Suggestions In Gmail Search Bar : New Google Labs Feature

Recently Google launched a new feature in its Labs called Search Autocomplete. After enabling this feature from Settings >> Labs we can search suggestions for contacts and operators as we type in the search box. Have a look :

How to enable this feature :

First open Gmail and then open Labs. Here search for Search Autocomplete and put a check on Enable and at the bottom click on Save Changes.

This feature will save a lot of time and finding contacts will be quite easy.

Undo Your Sent Message In Gmail : New Gmail Labs Feature

After reading this post you will get to know that why I love Google. Its going from best to awesome. Yesterday I was just checking Google Labs features and found a new feature called Undo Send. I think this feature will really help us alot.

It been a lot of time when we hit Send button after writing any mail and then we realize that we have to attach any file or do not want to send that mail. But as we hit Send there is nothing we can do. But with the new Undo feature we can stop messages from being sent for a few seconds after hitting the Send button. This is what you will get :

And wen you will click Undo, sending will be undone :

How to enable it :

1) First visit Gmail Labs and search for Undo Send.

2) Beside it click on Enable and at the bottom click on Save Changes. Enjoy !

What does this feature actually do :

Well this feature hold up your mail for about 5 seconds when you hit Send button so that you can click on Undo to stop your email to be sent. The official blog says that :

And don't worry – if you close Gmail or your browser crashes in those few seconds, we'll still send your message.

Watch YouTube Videos Inline : New Gmail Labs Feature

Recently Google added a new feature to its Gmail Labs with which you can easily see a video preview whenever you receive a YouTube link in an email. Not only YouTube videos you can also view Picasa and Flickr images. Have a look :

It is a great feature, now you do not have to visit the YouTube link to view the video. You can simply view it in your Gmail account.

How to enable it :

1) First visit Gmail Labs.

2) Now search for "YouTube previews in mail" and select Enable and click on Save Changes at the bottom. Enjoy !

Google Noticeboard : New Firefox Add-On From Google India Labs

Google India Labs launched a new Mozilla Firefox add-on called Google Noticeboard. Its a brand new service that helps people access and share information over the Internet using public digital noticeboards. Using Google Noticeboard, communities can access a variety of relevant information. People can create text messages or record voice snippets and post them to one or more noticeboards.

You can easily send instant messages by recording a voice message and writing text also. Below is a quick tutorial on how to use this tool :

1) First install Noticeboard from here.

2) Now restart your browser and at the bottom right, click on the Google icon. Have a look :

3) When you will click on this icon, a Window will pop up. Just enter you email id and password and click on Save.

Do not worry your password will be safe and will not be stored.

4) Now click on Create Message at the top left corner. Have a look :

5) Now select the recipients and click on Next.

6) Now you have got 2 ways to send your message :

a) If you want to send a voice message, click on Record and then record your message and click on

Save at the bottom.

b) If you want to send a text message, write the message and click on Send at the bottom.

How To Add Google News To Your Blog/Site

Few days ago Google launched a News-based element for the Google Search API. With this you can embed a news slideshow on your web page, letting your users see headlines and previews of Google News Search results, based on queries that you've selected. Below is a tutorial on how you can add NewsShow in your blog/site :

1) First visit NewsShow Wizard.

2) Now beside the Style menu, select the size of the news wizard. The wizard is available in two size :

a) 300x250 Medium Rectangle
b) 728x90 Leaderboard

3) Like this you can select your Search Topics that you think are interesting for your blog readers. I think, you should select a topic that suits the niche of your blog.

4) Now at the bottom, copy the code and paste it in your blog or site where you want your NewsShow to appear. It will look like this :

Send & Archive : New Gmail Lab Feature

Here is new Gmail Labs feature known as Send & Archive by Pal T.

When you get any mail from any of your friend and you send a reply you should be taken to Inbox page but by default Gmail shows the conversation page along with some options like Back to Inbox, Archive, Report Spam, Delete....., have a look :

The new feature of Gmail Labs helps you to send the reply, just archive the conversation and take you back to your Inbox. At least its a good feature for me.

How to enable it :

>> Open Gmail and at the top click on Settings.

>> Now click on Labs.

>> Search for Send & Archive and select Enable and at the bottom select Save Changes.

This will add a Send & Archive button just beside Send. If you want to go to Inbox after sending reply simply click on Send & Archive else click Send.

Toogle is a Text version of Googles Image Search. It creates colored images of the very term that we enter to search a particular image but in future they endeavor to create images out of the search terms entered by users past and present.

Use Google Calculator Inside Mozilla Firefox

I hardly use Windows calculator for calculations when I am using Internet. Instead I use Google for simple calculations. But do you know that you can use Google Calculator inside Mozilla Firefox. Well, its just a simple method.

Lets start :

If you have installed Mozilla Firefox, set the default search engine to Google.

Now, you can use this for simple mathematical calculations. Just have a look at the image below :

Google Page Rank Update

I think all of the webmasters have experienced the change in the Page Rank as Google has updated its Page Rank. Mine decreased from 4 to 3 :(

I think its due to my blogroll update. I deleted some of my friends from the list and so did they. I hope to see 5 Page Rank in the next update.

Currently I am very busy with seminars and my semester exams. After my exams I am planning to start writing as a guest blogger to increase my Page Rank.

Google Does Not Know Mathematics

I use Google for calculations when I am sitting on my PC. Google Calculator seems to work fine for small calculations but have you tried a bigger calculation that gives a smaller result? It seems that Google Calculator does not know mathematics and fails in this condition. Surprised ?

Just type the following equation in Google search and see what result you get

Everyone knows that the result is 1 but see what Google Calculator is showing :

Why is this happening : Actually Google Calculator fails at big calculations that is why giving incorrect result. The equation when compared to the result is very very big that is why the algorithm fails to give the accurate answer.
