Automatically End Application that is not Responding or is Hanged !!


Sometimes we get very irritated when suddenly "X" application or process is not responding or gets hanged and we have to wait for that program to respond.

The following registry tweak will allow you to automatically end an application or process that does not respond.

Instructions :

>>Press Windows+R and type "regedit" (without ")
>>This will open registry editor.
>>On the left hand side of registry editor , navigate to :

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop


This screenshot will help you if you are using registry editor for first time.

>>After that right click on the right hand side panel and create a new DWORD entry or alter the value, named "AutoEndTasks" and set its value as 1.

>>After that right click on the right hand side panel and create a new DWORD entry or alter the value, named "HungAppTimeout" and set its value as 1000.

>>After that right click on the right hand side panel and create a new DWORD entry or alter the value, named "WaitToKillAppTimeout" and set its value as 1.

>>Exit registry editor.


Now every time if an application/process is not responding it will be automatically be killed.

Note : Make sure you always keep a back up of your registry before making any changes to it.
